Ladyslipper Sinner's Soiree - October 2026

Event: October 17th 2026

Today was the day! So many thoughts and emotions running through my head, the past week was a trial of blood, sweat and tears when it came to perfecting the look.

The lovely Autumn of the Ladyslipper Society in Minnesota took amazing photography and MAN I could not be happier with how they turned out!

Let's rewind to the beginning, when i crafted my concept.

I took inspiration from various religious motifs, most notably Joan of Arc. The way she could be construed as both a being of Wrath to the English and a Saintess of Justice to the French, but by her contemporaries be neither was always fascinating to me. I have read through her personal diaries and she has always been such an interesting historical figure to me. I think, though not many tie her to Saint Michael the Archangel, I can see her being seen similarly by her compatriots. As she rides upon her steed into battle, shouting commands and leading prayer I am sure her devout piousness was inspiring to believers surrounding her.

My interest in both her and the religious iconography is purely secular--tbh the Catholic Church cooked crazy-style with gothic architecture. I was raised Catholic so I saw many of the inner theology surrounding this but, as war saints are not very relevant or tasteful in today's age, she has somewhat fallen out of the zeitgeist of today. I wanted to bring a fresh take on Wrath, and, with it being Sins and Virtues, I thought: "why not try and 'warp' this sin into a virtue?" So I sat and thought. Stained glass. It hit me how people can use glass as art. They can also become enraged, shatter it, and use it as a weapon. Something beautiful becomes deadly.

Wrath can take many forms. It can be poetic justice to enact revenge, but its burn on your soul is all-consuming. What takes you so long to build a beautiful life for yourself can come crashing down in an instant with one swift act of rage. War is much like this too, and I feel like how people had much different views of Joan on the French and English sides before her discovery, it was the equal and opposite virtue of Patience that allowed her to not be consumed by Wrath when she was discovered and burned at the stake.

That is the interesting thing of the sins and virtues. Each one and their opposite is so similarly mirrored in our own trials. Would your idea of Justice be considered Wrathful to another?

Blue x Black is my favorite colorway and I'm so happy that I can reuse nearly everything in everyday looks.

I had many iterations when creating it, many failed experiements and a lot of grumbling and headscratching as I tried to get things to work.

The angel wings were my crowning jewel, and I spent a lot of time designing and assembling the halo and the wings.

Lenticular window film with Gallery Glass stained glass paint, armature wire and hot glue were what I used to assemble it all. It was kind of fiddly to bend the wire properly and it took a ton of time to glue it down as I had to work in sections and wait for it to dry before being able to bend more into shape.

Here's a little process collection:

My original plan of using electrical tape as leading and sealing... did not work, so I tried to keep the glue tidy enough to make the faux leading look good. I think it came out pretty decent enough. It was inspired by the wings in a lot of MTG Cards

I allllsoooo made my nails to match, which ended up taking 4 hours due to my nails being natural underneath and needing a pretty good fill as well as one of my nails breaking so I needed to resculpt a new one from builder.

There was a lot of thought put into every single portion of this coordinate and I LOVED doing every single minute detail.

I went through a few iterations deciding what I liked. Here's some that didn't make the cut:
I also dressed up The Boy and made him look like the King of Pride.
Loverly. I will share a link or upload another post of the official images taken by the photographer when it is all said and done!

The event went crazy and it was so so so much fun we had an absolute ball.

The food, drink and desserts were delicious and everyone was so lovely. I won first place in the coordinate contest and used my first place prize of a Lolita Collective gift card to nab myself a Scaredy Bat Cutsew from Dilettante Crush! The second win of the night came in the form of winning the prize draw for the curl hair clips! They formed my coord for the next day ☆

The VIP Gift Bag I got for buying the VIP Ticket for Wrath came with a specially put-together ensemble to trinkets, goodies and a vintage teacup!!

I used the facemask and the lipstains and LOVED them and I have Evil and Devious plans in store for the royal blue nail gemmies. I will write a more in depth review of the tea flight [as well as finally visit the vitrail ones!]

All in all... i'm ravenous for more events like this. I want to live like this forever.

Thanks for reading my little BTS behind my coordinate assemblage and I hope to see you again here soon ♡
